Pay in cryptocurrency with a Pay to address in Invoices
If you invoice in one of your own currencies and give that currency a payment address, the invoice shows a Pay to block with the address and a QR code, so the client can pay from a wallet.
Where to set the address
Section titled “Where to set the address”Open Settings, then Your currencies. Fill in Network and Payment address for the currency, either when you add it or later in its row, and save. The address can contain Latin letters, digits and signs, with no spaces, from 15 to 128 characters.
What is printed
Section titled “What is printed”- Pay to appears on invoices only. Quotes and credit notes do not have it.
- It shows the address, the network if you set one, and a QR code that holds the address and nothing else. The QR code is printed only if the QR code is turned on in your theme. It is bigger for longer addresses so it stays easy to scan.
- An invoice in your own currency never prints your bank details. Bank details under an amount in USDT would look like a way to pay that amount.
- An invoice in your own currency without an address prints no payment details at all: no bank details, no address and no address QR code. The QR code for the web version still follows your theme. Add an address to the currency if you want the client to see where to pay. The document form and the document page warn you about such an invoice while it is a draft or issued.
- Invoices in an ISO currency such as EUR, and all quotes and credit notes, print your bank details as before.
Always check the address on your first sheet. A mistake in a wallet address cannot be undone by the bank.
The address is copied at issue
Section titled “The address is copied at issue”The address is copied into the invoice when you issue it. The public link and the PDF of that invoice keep this address, even if you change the address in Settings later. Drafts always read the current address from Settings.
If you edit and save an issued invoice that is not paid, the address is read from Settings again, and the new version shows the current address. Check the address before you send that version to the client again.
What the client sees
Section titled “What the client sees”The public page of an issued invoice shows the same Pay to block, with the network in bold and a note to send only that currency on that network. The address is split into groups of four characters, which makes it easier to compare. Copy puts the full address in the clipboard, and the QR code can be scanned from the screen.
When the invoice is paid or voided, the block is hidden, because there is nothing left to pay.
Does the QR code contain the amount?
No. It holds only the address. The client enters the amount from the invoice.
